5-Star Challenge
Several companies claim that they offer “luxury coffees,” but are they truly luxury coffees? Let’s take a look…
The first indicator of luxury is price. This is understandable as luxury coffee beans are rather rare. Uniqueness comes at a price. Celebrities that enjoy our coffees have likened us to Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Estee Lauder, Coach, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, BMW, Mercedes, and others.
The second indicator is appearance. A luxury coffee is perfect. The coffee beans have no broken pieces, are uniformly shaped, but ultimately… the proof is in the cup. There should be a nice layer of oil that remains surface level through the cup of coffee you are drinking.
Lastly, and quite possibly the strongest evidence, is the taste. Luxury coffee, in the truest sense, is easily discerned by its taste – perfectly natural semi-sweetness, balanced, complex, low acidity, and rich with flavor that will cause pleasant overtones to be obvious on the soft palate.
At Five Star Gourmet Coffee we have chosen to represent Bryan-David Scott’s line of luxury coffees which are rated in the top 1% of the world according to the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America.
